Endocrine Disorders:
Types of Disorders:
- Diseases that result when a gland produces too much or too little of an endocrine hormone, called a hormone imbalance.
- Diseases due to the development of lesion in the endocrine system, which may or may not affect hormone levels.
Types of Disorders:
- Hyperthyroidism - the thyroid gland makes too much thyroid hormone, leading to weight loss, fast heart rate, sweating, and nervousness.
- Hypothyroidism - the thyroid gland doesn't make enough thyroid hormone, leading to fatigue, constipation, dry skin, and depressions.
- Hypopituitarism - the pituitary gland releases little or no hormones. It may be caused by a number of different malfunctions within the Endocrine System.
